Our interest in the World Cup got underway in New York last night as Gabriel Magalhaes played the full 90 minutes in Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Morocco.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the MetLife Stadium, where the final will take place next month, big Gabi lined up alongside PSG’s Marquinhos for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in his first ever World Cup appearance.<\/p>\n

The game didn’t start well for the five-time winners as Ismael Saibari dinked over Liverpool’s Alisson to open the scoring for the Moroccans on 21 minutes.<\/p>\n

The PSV forward managed to get in between the two centre-backs before completing the move with a composed finish.<\/p>\n

But Brazil responded before half-time through Vinicius Jr. The Real Madrid forward cut inside before unleashing a rasping effort into the top corner.<\/p>\n

While both sides had chances in the second half, they settled for a point ahead of the next group game. <\/p>\n

Gabriel Martinelli was an unused sub for the Selecao, who take on Haiti in their second group game on Saturday, June 20, at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Last this evening, at midnight, Piero Hincapie’s Ecuador are in action, taking on African side Ivory Coast, who could select ex-Gunner, Nicolas Pepe. The match will take place in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

For those staying up until the early hours, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Viktor Gyokeres, as his Sweden take on Tunisia in their opening World Cup game at 3am UK time, in Monterrey, Mexico.<\/p>\n
