After the season concluded with our game at Crystal Palace, our players finally had the chance to toast their success, having spent the past five days basking in the glory of being champions.
After Mikel Arteta led his players up to the podium to receive their winners’ medals, Martin was presented the trophy by Emmanuel Nmecha, a player and ambassador for our North London United Down’s Syndrome team.
Our skipper hoisted it high into the south London sky amidst a host of confetti and fireworks to confirm us as the best team in the land, a moment that no Gooner will ever forget as we finally returned to the summit of English football once again.
Martin follows in the footsteps of Tony Adams and Patrick Vieira as Arsenal captains to lift the Premier League trophy, as we had our name engraved on it for the fourth time in our history, marking our 14th English championship.
