The Latvian couple made up of Tina Graudina and Anastasia Samoilova was crowned this Sunday as world champion in Adelaide (Australia) by defeating the Americans Taryn Brasher and Kristen Nuss in an intense final that was resolved in three sets (21-15, 15-21 y 15-11).

Graudina and Samoilova, who in the semifinals defeated the number one couple in the world, the Brazilians Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes, gave Latvia its first medal in a beach volleyball World Cup.
The match was close from the beginning, in line with their position in the world ranking, in which the Latvians occupy fourth position, tied with the Germans Müller-Tillmann, compared to the sixth place of Brasher and Nuss.
The Baltic women, who have been at the top of the ranking on several occasions, succeed the Americans Sara Hughes and Kelly Cheng, champions in the previous World Cup held in Mexico in 2023.
In the duel between Brazilian couples for the bronze medal, victory leaned on the side of Carol Solberg y Rebecca Cavalcanti, who defeated Thamelia and Victoria in two sets (21-18 and 22-20).
The next beach volleyball World Cup will be held in the Netherlands in 2027.
