Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes is a song we’ve been hearing more of at the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

That’s because members of our women’s team were given the opportunity to select their own goal music, and Alessia Russo can’t stop scoring!<\/p>\n

After netting a north London derby hat-trick in the Barclays Women’s Super League on Saturday, she told us: “Yes, we did get to pick.\u00a0I don’t know if everyone picked one or not,\u00a0but I thought Seven Nation Army is a nice one and hopefully the crowd likes it!<\/p>\n

“It was an important win today after a tough game mid-week.\u00a0So, to come here and be back at the Emirates with all our fans is amazing\u00a0and a north London derby win is really special.”<\/p>\n

Russo’s 27-minute hat-trick was the third-fastest we’ve ever scored in the WSL, with only Kelly Smith (18 minutes) and Vivianne Miedema (21 minutes) finding the back of the net three times in a much during a shorter period.<\/p>\n

“It was really nice,” she said. “I think it was nice to get chances early and be able to put them away.<\/p>\n

“I think we’re probably disappointed to have conceded the way that we did.\u00a0But, yes, really happy to respond with the two other goals in the second half\u00a0and get three points in a north London derby.<\/p>\n

“We’re definitely playing some great football.\u00a0Things are clicking, but it’s one game at a time\u00a0and we know we’ve got a massive game on Wednesday against Chelsea.\u00a0Things have been good and we want to really continue that.”<\/p>\n

As Russo alluded to, there is another big week coming up with a UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final second leg at Chelsea before the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.<\/p>\n

“Again, an FA Cup is something that we really want to progress in,” she added.\u00a0“In the last couple of years we probably haven’t done as well as we want to.\u00a0So, yes, both massive games. Hopefully we continue this form and we’ll do everything we can to make it work.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
