Our young Gunners will look to finish their U18 Premier League South campaign on a high when they travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday, May 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Originally scheduled for last month, the match was postponed due to the Eagles’ FA Youth Cup participation, and is now set to take place at Palace’s Training Ground, with kick-off at 11:00am (UK time).<\/p>\n

As has been the case in many games this season, our under-18s were unlucky to lose by a single goal in last week’s 2-1 home defeat to Reading.<\/p>\n

An in-form Louis Zecevic John sparked hopes of a late comeback in north London, but Adam Birchall’s side could only halve the deficit after the Royals had doubled their lead early in the second half. The result leaves us 11th with 32 points heading into the final fixture.<\/p>\n

THE OPPOSITION<\/h2>\n

Our young Gunners will be familiar with the south London side, having met in the reverse fixture at the Sobha Realty Training Centre only two-and-a-half weeks ago.<\/p>\n

They had just been crowned champions of the U18 Premier League Cup ahead of that tie, seeing off Manchester United 6-5 on penalties, after the game had been forced into extra-time with the score deadlocked at 1-1. The Eagles also enjoyed a strong FA Youth Cup run, but lost out 2-1 at the semi-final stage to the Red Devils.<\/p>\n

In the league, our London neighbours have enjoyed a solid season, with 14 wins putting them in sixth place, but lost to 2-1 at Aston Villa on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

April’s game at home ended in a late Palace winner as we fell to a 3-2 defeat, despite goals from Ceadach O’Niell and Zecevic John.<\/p>\n
