{"id":3508,"date":"2026-05-22T15:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T15:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipsport.com.ng\/?p=3508"},"modified":"2026-05-22T15:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T15:58:09","slug":"plan-your-trip-to-budapest-for-the-ucl-final-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipsport.com.ng\/?p=3508","title":{"rendered":"Plan your trip to Budapest for the UCL final | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>A remarkable 2025\/26 season concludes with us heading to Budapest for the UEFA Champions League final, as we face holders Paris Saint-Germain, aiming to clinch our first European Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are excited to share new details with supporters travelling to the Hungarian capital about what you can expect when you arrive in the city.  <\/p>\n<p>All tickets for the final are sold out, and any questions or issues relating to ticketing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uefa.com\/uefachampionsleague\/event-guide\/arsenal\/?_preview_token_uefacom=eventguide\">can be found on UEFA\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We recommend reading important information on our Help Centre <a href=\"https:\/\/help.arsenal.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/101000584648-uefa-champions-league-final-important-information-for-travelling-fans\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> where any new or important information will be shared, so please check in regularly before you travel. <\/p>\n<h2>TRAVELLING TO BUDAPEST<\/h2>\n<p>You will need a passport to enter Hungary if you are travelling directly from the UK or outside of the Schengen area. Check whether you need to apply for a <a href=\"https:\/\/home-affairs.ec.europa.eu\/policies\/schengen\/visa-policy\/applying-schengen-visa_en\">Schengen visa<\/a><strong>. <\/strong>If you are travelling from within the Schengen zone, you will need your passport to enter Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re travelling independently via commercial flight, Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD) is Hungary\u2019s major international airport, located 25km southeast of the city centre. Alternative airports to consider are <a href=\"https:\/\/viennaairport.com\/en\/passengers\">Vienna International Airport<\/a> (VIE), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bts.aero\/en\/\">Bratislava Airport<\/a> (BTS) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airportkosice.sk\/en\">Kosice International Airport<\/a> (KSC).<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re taking a chartered flight from London, you will arrive at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD). From the airport, shuttle buses will take you directly to the Fan Meeting Point. After the match, you must use the bus service from the Fan Meeting Point for your return charter flight. You will not be able to access your plane if you travel independently to the airport.<\/p>\n<p>You must pay for public transport when travelling around the city outside of matchday. <a href=\"https:\/\/bkk.hu\/en\/tickets-and-passes\/budapestgo\/\">Download the BudapestGo app<\/a> for timetables, journey planning and purchasing tickets.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re travelling independently by train, long-distance bus or car, Budapest is well connected by rail to cities across mainland Europe, including Vienna, Bratislava and Prague. Services will either call at <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/54PM6Woq6G2QyU6i6\">Eastern Budapest<\/a><strong> <\/strong>(east side of the city centre) or <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/8CdPnEPxqUtBmxBe9\">Budapest-West<\/a><strong> <\/strong>(towards the west of the city centre).<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, long-distance bus services are readily available to <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/YSF7eSc3EcVQ8uez5\">Nepliget Bus Station<\/a><strong> <\/strong>or <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/5ky3GxXStrueFFDZA\">Kelenfold Bus Terminal<\/a><strong> <\/strong>from locations such as Vienna, Prague and Bratislava. Supporters will be required to present their matchday ticket to redeem the free travel. Please note that this is only valid during each service&#8217;s operational hours each day.<\/p>\n<p>Ticket holders can take advantage of free travel on the following lines:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Metro lines 1, 2, 3 &#038; 4<br \/>\u2022 Tram line 1<br \/>\u2022 Champions Express: Special matchday bus service between airport and city<br \/>\u2022 200E regular bus service between airport and city<\/p>\n<p>Use the red routes to arrive at the stadium, or Puskas Arena Stadion station on M2 if you are travelling from the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>Please be prepared to present your match ticket to public transport staff upon request. Valid during the operational hours of each service for Saturday, May 30.<\/p>\n<h2>MATCHDAY SCHEDULE<\/h2>\n<p>10am: Arsenal Fan Meeting Point opens<br \/>3pm: Stadium gates open<br \/>5.45pm: Kick-off show by The Killers<br \/>6pm: Kick-off<\/p>\n<p><em>(all times local)<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>ARSENAL FAN MEETING POINT  <\/h2>\n<p>We would love our travelling supporters to join us at our Arsenal Fan Meeting Point to soak up the atmosphere with live entertainment and special guests to get you ready for the match.  <\/p>\n<p>This is our free, non-ticketed Fan Meeting Point where you can enjoy the pre-match celebrations. It will also remain open after the match for ticket holders to wait for their return journey home. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Where: <\/strong>The cautious (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/search\/47.513618,+19.086105?entry=tts&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDMxOC4xIPu8ASoASAFQAw%3D%3D&amp;skid=3ce96fa5-7528-4b22-8b2e-225904b31454\" target=\"_blank\">Google Maps<\/a>)<br \/><strong>Distance to the stadium: <\/strong>1km (0.6 mile)\/ 15-minute walk<br \/><strong>When: <\/strong>Saturday, May 30, opening at 8am. Please note that rival shirts are not permitted in the fan meeting point. <\/p>\n<p>In line with stadium regulations, flags, banners or other symbols and materials that display content considered discriminatory, offensive, or politically motivated are prohibited from the Fan Meet Point. Gates open at 3pm local time for a 6pm kick-off.<\/p>\n<p>Food and drink concessions (including beer) will be available outside the stadium before the match. There will be live entertainment from local performers to keep you entertained before you go to your seats.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Fan Meeting Point<\/strong><br \/>Walking is the best option. It\u2019s approximately a 15-minute walk. The route will be clearly signposted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the city centre<\/strong><br \/>Walking is a convenient option if time allows. Alternatively, board the M2 service to Pusk\u00e1s Ar\u00e9na Stadion from metro stations in the city centre such as Deak Ferenc ter.<\/p>\n<h2>STADIUM RULES<\/h2>\n<p>Puskas Arena may operate differently for the UEFA Champions League final than you are used to.<\/p>\n<p>The following are prohibited inside the stadium:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bags larger than A4 size<\/li>\n<li>Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes and heat-not-burn tobacco products<\/li>\n<li>You must carry valid original ID to the stadium. You may be requested to present ID to public authorities when entering the stadium. Accepted IDs include passport and national ID card.<\/li>\n<li>You can carry a small power bank, no larger than your phone.<\/li>\n<li>You can take debit\/credit cards or contactless payment devices. Puskas Arena is a cashless stadium.<\/li>\n<li>Flags\/banners at a max. of 2m x 1.5m and flagpoles at a max. of 1m long &#038; 1cm diameter are allowed into the stadium as long as they comply with stadium rules and are not of an offensive, political or discriminatory nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>AFTER THE MATCH<\/h2>\n<p>If the match concludes during normal time, the post-match trophy ceremony and accompanying celebrations should finish by 8.30pm. If the match goes to extra time or penalties, expect the action on the pitch to continue until around 9.15pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporters on commercial flights<\/strong><br \/>Should you have an extended wait for your flight, consider heading back to the Fan Meeting Point as facilities will reopen after the match. Then use Pusk\u00e1s Ferenc Stadion metro station or tram stop to begin your onward journey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Supporters on charter flights<\/strong><br \/>You must board the shuttle bus service from the Fan Meeting Point for your return charter flight.
