I’ve lived there ever since. I got into football through my dad, who played at a semi-professional level in Poland. He’s always been a huge football person and someone I’ve looked up to growing up.

He put so much time and effort into me, but I wouldn’t be where I am without the support and love of both my parents. I was scouted by MK Dons when I was around seven at a tournament while playing for a local club called MK Wanderers.

It’s quite a funny story because I was actually meant to be playing outfield that day, but our goalkeeper was ill. We were rotating positions, so I went in goal for one of the games, and the MK Dons scout liked what he saw.

When I was around 14, I was called up to train with the MK Dons first team, which gave me some invaluable experience. Being involved in first-team training sessions and matchday squads was a massive highlight for me.

Arsenal had been watching me for around two years before I signed – I was told there were a lot of scouts monitoring me during that period. At the end of my under-16 season, I was informed that there were a couple of clubs interested. I remember my dad calling me to tell me that MK Dons had accepted Arsenal’s bid.

When I arrived at Sobha Realty Training Centre for the first time, I was completely starstruck, it felt like stepping into a new world. Seeing players I’d only ever watched on TV in real life was surreal. Recently, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain trained with us, which was an amazing experience as he was someone I watched growing up.

Arsenal also has a strong history of Polish goalkeepers, with players like Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny. If I were to have a career even close to the level and longevity of either of them, I’d be extremely proud.

My family is Polish from Białystok in the east of the country, I speak the language fluently, and in the future I’d love the opportunity to represent Poland at youth international level.

“When I arrived at Sobha Realty Training Centre for the first time, I was completely starstruck, it felt like stepping into a new world”

I’ve taken part in first-team sessions with players like Gabriel Jesus and Ben White, and it’s a real eye-opener. The speed of the game is unbelievable, and everything they do is so clean and precise, that’s the level every player aspires to reach.

Overall, I think my first year at Arsenal has gone really well. It’s been a big period of adjustment, and I’m focused on improving by one percent every day.

The main highlight so far has been my debut against Ipswich, where we won 4-2. I was a bit nervous, but it turned into a really good game for me.

Looking ahead to 2026, my aim is to keep fighting for my place in the under-18s, prove myself to the coaches, and continue learning and improving every day.

  Young Gun: Jack Talbot

Copyright 2026 The Arsenal Football Club Limited.
