He Guaguas Volleyball Club has lost this Thursday by 1-3 before the Ziraat Bank also Ankara Turk into the first leg of the qualifier and quarterfinals of the Champions League, played at the Insular Sports Center of Gran Canaria.
The Guaguas started the game with the 4-0 score in their favor and remained ahead as the set advanced (12-7), without the Turkish league champion finding many possibilities of adding.
The hosts doubled at points to the visitors of the Ziraat Bank of Ankara (14-7). The advantage harvested by El Guaguas (20-12) was unrecoverable to the Turkish team and the manga fell on the local side by a lazy 25-17 (1-0).
At the start of the second set, the Grancanarios players were ahead again (8-4). The Turkey champion managed to minimize the difference (10-9) to try to tie the match, which he got in point 17 after adding a partial 3-0 (17-17).
The set continued with equality (21-21) and, in the end, the visitors took the set by 23-25 and tied the game (1-1).
The Ziraat Bank opened the third manga with a partial 5-0 in his favor. Local players tried to trace to recover the difference but the Turks remained ahead (13-17). Despite the efforts of the island, the visitors were more successful and won the set 20-25 (1-2).
The fourth set was matched from the beginning (9-9); Grancanarios players tried to recover the sensations of the first set and the Turks to finish the match (19-19). In the final stretch, the sleeve advanced point to point, without advantages, until the visitors of the Ziraat Bank managed to win the set by 23-25 and the clash 3-1.
The second leg between both teams will be held next Tuesday, February 27, at 5:00 p.m. at the Başkent Volleyball Hall in Ankara, in Türkiye.
