The Tennessee Titans now have three quarterbacks on their roster after they recently signed veteran Tim Boyle, who joins Will Levis and Brandon Allen.
Boyle was signed in 2018 by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent. Since then, he’s bounced around the league, spending time with the Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, and New York Giants. He has just five career starts (0-5) in his seven seasons in the league. In 23 games played, he has completed 60.5% of passes for 1,210 yards, five touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
What Tim Boyle’s signing means for Titans in the draft
The Titans have the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and were expected to select either quarterback Cam Ward or two-way star Travis Hunter.

Levis has recently been the subject of trade rumors. The Titans’ move for Boyle could mean they’re looking to trade Levis for draft capital and take Ward No. 1 overall and have some veterans lined up behind him.
If they do stick with the three quarterbacks currently on their roster, this move for Boyle would signify that they’re looking to pick Hunter with the first overall selection. It’s unlikely the Titans will go that route – not if they want any hope of making a Super Bowl run.
Either way, Boyle will have to compete with Allen for a roster spotconsidering he’s never been a starter in the NFL.
The NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 24 and will continue through Sunday, April 26 at Lambeu Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
