The start of the year brings with it a celebration of College Footballwith huge games coming and going along with the cold weather. Sport does not stop for anyone or anythingnot even Christmas and New Year’s Eve, which is good news for those who like to keep warm inside with some sporting action.
The first round of the College Football Playoffs has already concluded, with 8 teams battling it out for the top honour. Here are all the results so far, followed by the upcoming games (remembering that some teams received byes into the quarterfinals):

As you can see, Penn State brought their A-game to round out 2024 with a resounding win over Boise State.
Wednesday, Jan. 1
- Peach Bowl (Mercedes-Benz Stadium): No. 4 Arizona State vs. No. 5 Texas, 31-39
- Rose Bowl (Rose Bowl Stadium): No. 1 Oregon vs. No. 8 Ohio State, 21-41
- Sugar Bowl (Caesars Stadium): No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 7 Our Lady, 10-23
The College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinals will take place on January 9 and 10. The Orange Bowl, featuring the Fiesta Bowl winner against the Sugar Bowl winneris scheduled for Thursday, January 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The Cotton Bowl, pitting the Peach Bowl winner against the Rose Bowl winnerwill follow on Friday, January 10at 7:30 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The CFP National Championship will occur on Monday, January 20at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, with coverage on ESPN.
