The final phase of the Copa del Rey de Volleyball already has dates and headquarters


The 49th edition of the Copa del Rey of Volleyball will be held at the European Pavilion of Leganés between February 15 and 18 of the year 2024, as the Royal Spanish Federation (RFEVB) has made official in a statement.

In the tournament, which returns to Leganense territory after the 2017 edition that won the Can Ventura Palma, the eight best classified teams at the end of the first round of the regular league will take place there.

The European Pavilion is a historic enclosure within the Madrid and Spanish volleyball, and has already hosted several coperos tournaments: the 2017 Cup of the King and the Cups of the Iberdrola Queen 2016 and 2017, in addition to receiving the absolute national teams, both in preparation meetings and in official competition.

In addition, Leganés is a city that “lives as few the emotion of the volleyball”, with its local clubs militating in Super League 2, both in the male and female category.

The municipality has also hosted the National Volleyball Team, housing “great events and demonstrating the passion with which Leganenses enjoy this sport, with more than 4,000 people in the stands starring in an exceptional environment,” according to the Councilor for Sports, Clara Polonio.

“For Leganés it is a pride to house events of this size in the city, which had not been enjoyed here for many years. As we have been holding, our motto is 'Leganés is your goal', and we want the municipality to be the goal of all the sport and more of tournaments as great as this one,” he added.
