Having been confirmed as Premier League champions, the Gunners complete the domestic campaign with one last fixture – and with it comes Gameweek 38 of Fantasy Premier League.
Our win over Burnley on Monday evening proved enough following Bournemouth’s draw with Manchester City the following night, meaning the domestic season finale will end with our trophy lift after we face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
CHAMPIONS HAUL THE POINTS AGAIN
Monday’s Gameweek 37 victory against Burnley transpired to be the crucial point to kickstart the week in which the Gunners became English champions once again, preparing to lift our first Premier League title since Arsene Wenger’s Invincibles of 2003/04.
The 1-0 success at Emirates Stadium saw Mikel Arteta’s men take one giant leap closer to glory, confirmed 24 hours later via Bournemouth’s point at the Vitality Stadium, and it was no coincidence that several Gunners once again came in clutch for their millions of FPL managers.
Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) was the man to lead the Fantasy charge in red and white on Monday, delivering a double-figure haul for the second time in three Gameweeks with 10 points. Bukayo’s assist for Kai Havertz (£7.3m) saw our German bag eight points of his own, joining William Saliba (£6.3m) and Riccardo Calafiori (£5.6m) after their performance-related bonus points joined forces with another clean sheet.
Numerous Gunners returned six points as we kept the Clarets at bay in north London, including Gabriel (£7.3m) whose total now stands at a gargantuan 208. Big Gabi now has 31 points in his last four Gameweeks – as such, it comes as little shock he is now owned by 46.1% of teams.
Our No. 6’s form ratio across his last five games is matched in our squad only by David Raya (£6.2m), the Golden Glove winner as good as certain to end 2025/26 as FPL’s top-scoring goalkeeper. David’s 162 points have blown the game apart this term with his ownership having risen to 36.5% – thanks in no small part to an incredible 19 clean sheets and counting. With his ownership having surpassed 36.5%, the next highest-performing stopper behind David in FPL has been Brentford’s Caoimhin Kelleher (£4.8m).
FROM NORTH TO SOUTH
Sunday’s season finale will be a special day for everyone associated with Arsenal Football Club, as we are officially crowned champions after our final match against Crystal Palace in south London.
Palace, comfortably safe in the Premier League in 15th place, could also be laden with a trophy within the next few days, with a Conference League final on the horizon next Wednesday in Leipzig, taking on LaLiga outfit Rayo Vallecano.
As a result, it could be difficult to gauge the side Oliver Glasner will field for our meeting three days prior, with numerous Palace stars having been astute FPL picks throughout various points of the season.
The Eagles’ leading FPL marksman this campaign has been central defender Maxence Lacroix (£5.2m), who has weighed in with 154 points and played over 3,000 Premier League minutes. Even throughout his side’s European journey, Lacroix has been a mainstay in the league line-up.
With an ownership of 9.4%, the most-selected player in red and blue stripes is long-time FPL favourite Daniel Munoz (£5.9m). Having been in blistering form when picking up an injury before GW15, Munoz did not return until GW23 but still maintains a season total of 135 points thus far, having been an excellent threat going forward at wing-back to add to his clean sheet eligibility.
Other significant underrated Palace picks this season include Tyrick Mitchell (£5.0m) and albeit injury-doubted Chris Richards (£4.4m) at the back, while Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.6m) has begun to fire again up top and Ismaila Sarr (£6.4m) has been a well-priced midfield option for much of the season. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson (£5.1m) has been another near-constant despite the juggle with the European calendar, playing the full match in every Gameweek aside from GW30, and claiming 129 points – the sixth-highest goalkeeping total this year.
PICK OUT THE DECISIVE GAMES
Whether you’ve got just the one free transfer to hand for the season’s final Gameweek or you have a few banked, it goes without saying that now is the time to make those changes or even blow the budget.
With rotation possible across a vast array of Sunday’s fixture programme and many clubs certain of their fate ahead of the summer, the clear approach for GW38 is to identify the sides with it all still to play for.
Running through the 10 matches left to play, six of them feature at least one team with something significant riding on their final-day fixture – whether that be for Champions League qualification, any tier of European football (unprecedented in this era for several clubs) or survival in the top flight.
There are two games – Liverpool’s hosting of Brentford and Sunderland’s showdown with Chelsea – in which both sides have it all still to do to complete their task, with Arne Slot’s side still aiming to seal a Champions League spot and the remaining trio all up for Europa League or Conference League qualification.
Elsewhere, European hopefuls Brighton host Champions League-assured Manchester United, so the Seagulls could be a potential target. Bournemouth, whose draw with Man City benefitted themselves as well as the Gunners, head to already-safe Nottingham Forest with the dream of Champions League football still very much alive.
Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United must now battle it out for Premier League safety, with Spurs needing at least a point at home to Everton and the Hammers having to beat Leeds United in east London to stand any chance of an escape.
As a result, Brighton, Bournemouth and West Ham could be goldmines for your team in the final week if you’re well in the frame to win a mini-league or even a much broader ranking. For instance, of those worldwide competing in the Arsenal fans’ leagueShamim Wakil’s side ‘2EZE’ – featuring Gabriel, Saka and Viktor Gyokeres (£9.1m) – currently leads by a slender 12-point margin to Ivan Peula’s ‘Team Peki’ in second. Just one point behind comes third-placed Oluwatobi Ajayi’s outfit ‘Le Puissant FC’, who are now in the running for the Gooners’ league crown after a superb 104-point week in GW37.
While it remains all to play for among a wide range of teams, standing out with differentials could be the route to success and the best way of thinking outside the box is to combine promising form with a fixture that matters.
A popular pick for the final day is unsurprisingly Eli Junior Kroupi (£4.7m), whose bargain price and low ownership of just 6.6% make him an easy star to bring in. His stunner against City on Tuesday made it 13 for the league season, eclipsing the record for goals scored in a debut campaign by a teenager.
With Brighton facing a Man United side who are looking for their skipper Bruno Fernandes (£10.4m) to break the league’s assist record this weekend, the hosts’ attack may be better suited than the defence for a latecomer to your squad. Danny Welbeck (£6.4m) is well-priced and maintains a knack of scoring against his first club; like Kroupi, he has 13 to his name in 2025/26.
Finally, for West Ham who simply must win, while the obvious pick up top would be Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m), a more affordable impact player could be 1.4%-picked Crysencio Summerville (£5.4m) against his former side Leeds.
