“We won the league at Anfield, we won it at the Lane – twice! Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, no-one can say the same…”

You’re probably familiar with the chant that our supporters sing at most home and away games, but do you know the history of the lyrics? They reflect on some of our greatest title-clinching matches away from home, stretching back almost a century ago to the 1930s.

Someone who played his part in a couple of those celebrated matches is Freddie Ljungberg, who lifted two titles with us in 2002 and 2004, and he has provided a refresher for those who want to know the backstory!
