Manchester City have been drawn against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals, while Chelsea will host League One side Port Vale after they knocked out Sunderland in the fifth round.
City’s Premier League title rivals Arsenal go to Southampton, currently eighth in the Championship, with Leeds United facing the winner of Monday night’s tie beween West Ham and Brentford.
The FA Cup quarter-final ties will be played on the weekend of April 4/5.
It is another favourable draw for record 14-time winners Arsenal, who are yet to play Premier League opposition in this season’s FA Cup.
They knocked out Mansfield and Wigan, who are both in League One, after beating struggling Championship side Portsmouth in the third round.
Meanwhile, there is no let up for City, who trail Premier League leaders Arsenal by seven points with a game in hand, after they won at Newcastle in the previous round.
Port Vale were the giantkillers of the fifth round, eliminating Premier League side Sunderland in a 1-0 win, and have been rewarded with an even tougher game – a trip to Club World Cup champions Chelsea.
