Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley has officially overtaken Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the NFL’s top merchandise seller, marking a major shakeup in the league’s popularity rankings.
Each year, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) releases its list of players who generated the most merchandise sales across the leagueand for the most recent cycle, Barkley took the No. 1 spot.

Mahomes came in second, followed by a mix of veterans and rising stars: Jalen Hurts, Jayden Daniels, C.J. Stroud, Josh Allen, Aidan Hutchinson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Micah Parsons, and Justin Jefferson rounded out the top 10.
Barkley becomes the first running back to lead the list since 2017when Ezekiel Elliott – then with the Dallas Cowboys – topped the charts. His Eagles jersey ranked among the year’s bestsellersjoining those of Mahomes, Hurts, Daniels, and Stroud as fan favorites.

How are NFL merchandise sales calculated?
This ranking doesn’t just reflect jersey sales. It includes all officially licensed NFL products bearing a player’s name or likeness – everything from apparel and accessories to toys, backpacks, thermoses, posters, and even collectibles like Funko Pop figures.
The data spans sales from March 1, 2024, through February 28, 2025and is compiled from retailers including Fanatics, Outerstuff, Fathead, FOCO, and Funko.
Saquon Barkley’s bold objective for 2025 and beyond
Now gearing up for his first full season in Philadelphia, Barkley recently reported to Eagles minicamp with one clear message: he’s aiming for greatness.
“I don’t mean it in a cocky way – I just want to be the best running back to ever play the game. Or at least one of the best,” Barkley told reporters. “I know there’s no definitive way to prove who’s the greatest, but that’s what drives me. I believe God blessed me with a unique talent, and He’s put me through a lot of adversity. That’s the mindset I bring.”
A Penn State alum, Barkley has racked up 7,216 rushing yards over six NFL seasons. That total places him fourth among active running backstrailing only Joe Mixon (7,428), Ezekiel Elliott (9,130), and Derrick Henry (11,423). Still, Barkley would need over 11,000 more yards to catch the all-time record set by Emmitt Smithwho sits atop the list with an eye-popping 18,355 yards.
