Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the best NFL coaches of all time. When he was the Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach, he led them to nine playoff runs, six division titles, five NFC Championship Games, and a Super Bowl appearance. He’s now been with the Chiefs since 2013, and has turned them into a dynasty, leading them to 11 postseason appearances, nine consecutive division titles, seven consecutive AFC Championship Games, five Super Bowl appearances, and three Super Bowl titles.
Kadarius Toney’s words of respect for Andy Reid: “That’s my favorite person”
Reid’s players clearly appreciate him as a head coach as the respect they show him is obvious. And that goes for former players as well.
Wide receiver Kadarius Toney played for the Chiefs from 2022-24. But in his last season in Kansas City, he was battling injuries that caused him to struggle all season. Eventually, he was released, but he didn’t lose respect for the coach.
During an interview on the “New Rory and Mal” podcast, Toney expressed how much he appreciates Reid for how he utilized him in the Chiefs’ gameplan, implementing his skills from his time at Florida.
“He implemented all he’s going back to watching Florida film,” said Toney, “Oh, yeah, I like how he did this motion right here. That’s kind of where the motion comes in at in the Super Bowl. That’s where that comes in,” said Toney.
“He liked the way I did the one against Tennessee (Volunteers). In my senior year, he said we could do something like this, but without you doing that, we gonna bring you back because the way they defense scheme,” Toney went on. “He was a real guru. I love Coach Reid. Man, I swear that’s my favorite person right now.”
