Mike Evans opens up like never before in hilarious interview with Kevin Hart

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is known for having a low-key public presence. Despite being in the league for 11 years, he’s more reserved with the media than some of his NFL counterparts.

But in a recent interview with actor and comedian Kevin Harthe opened up more than usual.

From ice baths to trash talk: Mike Evans shows another side

Leave it to Kevin Hart to get someone to open up. In his hit cold tub interview series, “Cold as Balls”, Hart spoke to Evans and the topics ranged from Harry Potter to Hart’s film history and of course, a little football too.

During the ice bath interview, Evans teased Hart about his acting careerasking how many Oscars he’s won. Meanwhile, Hart questioned Evan’s Harry Potter fandom as he has a tattoo, but hasn’t even read all the books.

They also discussed a bit about football. Hart asked Evans to compare what it was like playing with Tom Brady to other quarterbacks.

“Everybody’s energy just changed,” Evans said of playing with Brady. “Everybody’s confidence just grew to a whole (different) level. Like obviously, we had quarterbacks in the past that worked extremely hard and made other guys work hard but it was just different. Like when Tom Brady is around, you have to go hard. Something inside you just makes you want to play harder for that guy because of what he’s done for the game and how he comes to work.”

But Evans also spoke about his belief in quarterback Baker Mayfieldtelling Hart that he was a “big reason” why he returned to Tampa Bay.

“The energy that he’s brought to Tampa. After Tom? That’s some huge shoes to fill,” said Evans. “A huge act to follow… I think he’s done an unbelievable jobwinning two division championships, making it to the postseason.”

“Tampa is in great hands with Baker,” he continued. “I’m sure he’ll play much longer than I will, but I’m looking forward to a great season this year and competing for a Super Bowl.”

Hart also asked Evans if he noticed his body changing/feeling more sore after so many seasons in the NFL, to which he replied “not really, no”, so that’s good news for the Bucs! Overall, the interview gave us a rare glimpse at another, more lighter and candid side of Evans’ personality we don’t usually get to see in public.
