After taking us to the brink of our first league title in 22 years, Mikel Arteta has been included on the shortlist for the Premier League Manager of the Season for 2025/26.
Our boss has been recognised after guiding us to 24 wins and seven draws from 36 games during a campaign where we have sat on top of the table for all but one week since hitting the front in October, while also reaching the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years.
Mikel was crowned the division’s Manager of the Month for the eighth time during his tenure in N5 in March, having been nominated for the monthly award on five occasions this term.
Having now been nominated for the seasonal award in three of the past four years, Mikel is one of six bosses in line to win the trophy, which was last received by an Arsenal manager in 2004 when Arsene Wenger picked up the trophy following his Invincibles success.
Five-time victor Pep Guardiola is a contender after pushing us all the way in the title race, while Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth completes a hat-trick of Spanish representation after bringing the Cherries tantalisingly close to a first-ever European qualification.
That is also something that Keith Andrews is hoping to achieve at Brentford, and he has also been recognised for the job he’s done in his debut season as a manager, while Michael Carrick’s 15-game spell as Manchester United’s interim boss has earned him a spot after guiding them back into the Champions League.
