Heading into the 2025 NFL season, there is a sense that it could be make or break for Tyreek Hill with the Miami Dolphins.
He is already a Super Bowl champion and an eight-time Pro Bowl selection. But the performances of Hill, now 31, drifted in 2024 and was at the center of controversy on more than one occasion last year.
The Dolphins have insisted that they expect him to remain on the team for 2025 and, with a fully fit Backdaultthere is hope that they can challenge for a championship. Nevertheless another great wide receiver has balked at the suggestion that Hill could be an all-timer in the NFL.
Speaking earlier this week, Randy Moss was asked where Hill ranks in the list of all-time greats. Moss, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, ranked Hill as one of the best active WRs.
“He’s nowhere all-time,” Moss told the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “Where is he at in today’s game? Tyreek Hill is probably top five. I put him top five.”
When asked for the best-ever player in the position, Moss wasn’t messing around.
“Is that a real question?” Moss joked. “Are you being political or are you being real?
“Because if we’re talking political, we’ll say Jerry Rice. If we’re talking real football, where I knock your ass out, it’s me.”
Moss ended his 14-year NFL career with the single-season touchdown reception record (23, 2007) and is second in career touchdown receptions. He played in two Super Bowls, for both the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers. In 2019 Moss was voted into the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Teamcementing his reputation as one of the all-time greats.
